Outbid is a public UK board where job seekers pay to rank their LinkedIn profile. Recruiters browse by industry and reach out on LinkedIn — no job posts, no accounts. Paste your profile, pick a bid, pay, and you're on the board.

How it works

1. Open the board or an industry tab, paste your LinkedIn profile URL, and wait for the preview.
2. Choose your bid (minimum £1, in £1 steps). The page shows which rank that bid would land at.
3. Confirm you've reviewed the name, headline, and industry — edit anything that looks wrong, then tick the checkbox before you pay.
4. Pay with Stripe. When payment completes, your listing goes live at the rank your bid earns.

FAQ

Do I need an account?

No. Paste a URL, bid, and pay. That's it.

What if I bid less than #1?

You still land on the board at whatever rank that bid can take. Lower bids still rank — just not at the top.

Can the same URL appear twice?

No. Each URL appears once across the whole board. Posting from an industry tab doesn't create a second row.

How do I climb if I'm already listed?

Paste the same URL again and raise the total bid. You only pay the difference (at least £1). The preview shows your current rank → projected rank and how much more you'll be charged.

What if two people bid the same amount?

The listing that reached that amount first keeps the higher rank. Matching someone's bid puts you below them.

What's the difference between All and industry boards?

All is the full pool — every profile. Industry tabs (Tech, Finance, Marketing, Sales, Creative, Healthcare, Engineering, Legal) filter that same pool. An industry listing always also shows on All.

How is the industry chosen?

We use your LinkedIn headline when we can detect a match. Otherwise we use the board you posted from. The confirmation checkbox is where the destination is stated before you pay.

What can I list?

Your LinkedIn profile only — so recruiters can view your experience and message you there. Job posts, company pages, and chat links are not allowed.

I'm a recruiter — how do I contact someone?

Click their profile on the board. It opens their LinkedIn page where you can connect or message them as usual.

Ranking

• Bids are in British pounds. Minimum bid is £1, in £1 increments.
• Higher bid ranks higher. Equal bids: first to that amount stays above.
• To take a specific rank, bid at least £1 above the listing currently holding that spot (or £1 if the board is empty).
• Rank is determined by completed payment — not by who clicked first.

After you pay

• Your listing goes live once payment completes.
• Clicks open the URL you submitted.
• Raising your bid later replaces your previous amount on the same URL — you aren't charged the full total again, only the difference.
